Abstract: The principal aim of this work, together with the video, is to give a general outlook towards underwater sport diving. Many, although thoroughly interested in the sport, opt not to take part thinking, wrongly, that the risk to life involved is rather too dangerous. This is mainly due to lack of knowledge about the subject. Like any other sport, underwater diving has got rules, and if such are observed, the risk is totally removed. The video, although complementing the theoretical aspect of this work, was produced as an informative programme on its own, to be shown at schools, clubs, or even on television, in an attempt to promote interest towards this most satisfying of sports. Underwater sport diving is not a 'teach yourself' sport, and as no book can ever be a substitute for experience itself, enrolling with a club is surely the best way to learn to dive the safe way.
