Abstract: The study investigates attitudes of Maltese adolescents (14-16), attending Private Church Schools and State Schools, towards Maltese and English . The questionnaire was administered. to 400 participants ( 200 boys and 200 girls ). This is divided into two sections. Section A is biographical in nature whilst section B is an attitudinaire devised according to the Likert Scale . The study investigates differential attitudes towards Maltese · and English in correlation with the home environment and the · school environment . Gender attitudinal differences are also considered.
