Abstract: Different types of attitudes circle around Art education. The research is based on Form 3 and 4 Art option students and teachers' views on Art education in Maltese Secondary Schools. The method of research used was quantitative through the use of questionnaires. Furthermore, the data collected was classified in tables. The findings show a general positive attitude towards Art amongst teachers and students although there seem to be misconceptions and an unclear picture of what Art entails. Students are not sufficiently informed about job opportunities and not properly educated about the uses of sketchbooks and portfolios. Thus there is the need of a sound Art programme, which would outline and make known to all, the value of Art in education.
