Considering the potential and role that the community has in education, our study focuses on the utilisation of a community resource Ghammieri Government Farm as a site for learning. The project aims at producing an educational pack for teachers conducting visits for primary and secondary school learners for both integrated science and biology students. The pack is developed around a set of activities that can be carried out at the Ghammieri Government Farm. The activities deal with a range of issues concerning science that are linked with other spheres such as agriculture, the environment and history. The approach adopted focuses on promoting hands-on and minds-on activities in science through games, the use of ICT's, experiments, walks and a treasure hunt. The pack is supplemented with ideas for follow-up activities, teachers' notes, Excel files and PowerPoint presentations. This dissertation also contains a historical overview and feedback on the educational value of the pack. Additionally, some recommendations are suggested on how Ghammieri Government Farms educational potential can be improved.en_GB
