The use of computers in Economics teaching provides the opportunity for students to explore different aspects of Economic theory in a way that is not possible using traditional methods. This study discusses both the theoretical and practical aspects of such pedagogy. The first part of the analysis deals with issues relating to the contribution of computers to general education, and in particular with study of Economics. The second section deals with the local educational system, focussing in particular on the teaching of Economics. The approach, willingness and potential of Schools, Economics teachers and Economics students (Forms III - VI) to this relatively new teaching method have been analysed. This was done by conducting various interviews and questionnaires, as well as making various and class observations. Finally, a computer aided Economics lesson was held with a cross-sectional sample of second year Economics students. This was done with the aim of investigating how the average Maltese student reacts to this type of teaching method.en_GB
