Abstract: The purpose of this dissertation is to understand the challenges prisoners are met with in such as restricted environment as prison is, from the professionals’ standpoint. Three semi-structured interviews were carried out with professionals who work at Corradino Correctional Facility. The interviews were then analyzed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. The emergent themes sum up some of the challenges prisoners are faced with along with some other information about the prison population. The results the emergent themes which were elicited from the data. Limitations to the study are presented as well as recommendations for future research.
