Abstract: The idea behind this dissertation is to complement the current Form 1 history textbook with different ICT resources, with the aim of enhancing the teaching of history through the use of current technology. It focuses on particular periods found in the current Form 1 syllabus; varying from pre-history to history, including topics about the Temple Period, Phoenicians, Romans, Byzantines and the Arabs. This dissertation involved the creation of a website which brought together interactive primary and secondary history sources specifically designed for Form 1 students, including original graphics and illustrations, video clips, worksheets and PowerPoint presentations. The Literature Review deals with the teaching of history through the "new" history approach, which caters for skills and concepts, especially in relation to ICT. A pilot exercise was conducted with Form 1 classes, and the outcomes are discussed in the pilot study evaluation chapter. To conclude, a brief evaluation of the adaptations and the limitations of the resources concerning this exercise are explored.
