Disasters can occur anywhere and without notice. They cause terrible situations, which break the daily routine of a community or a society, harming individuals, healthcare systems and the economy. When thinking of disasters, one usually imagines catastrophes such as hurricanes in the United States and earthquakes and tsunamis in Asia. The spread of infectious diseases or manmade disasters, however, are not restricted to any particular area and can happen anywhere. The most recent is the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID19) which is a novel type of highly contagious pneumonia caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARSCoV2).en_GB
