Abstract: THIS paper deals with certain psychiatric principles underlying the problem of crime and its remedy, and tries to present tentative suggestions, in broad outline, as to how such principles may be applied in the treatment of the law breaker. It offers no fool-proof solution of the eradication of crime but it is hoped that it will induce others to explore in all seriousness the various channels that may lead to a better understanding of the psychology of the offender and to a more efficacious penal system.
