Abstract: Social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBO) in schools have become a cause for concern. This project examines an innovative behaviour intervention programme for students with SEBO. The Lunch Club programme aims at proposing a corrective emotional experience amongst its participants (students, teachers and parents). A five month critical ethnographic study was carried out in a girls' main stream secondary school, in the northern part of Malta. Thirteen students, three teachers, an LSA and a focus group were used to gather data. Noticeable positive changes in students' perception and behaviour and in the teachers' and parents' perception regarding the LC participants were elicited from the study. From the results, it is suggested that the LC should be implemented in the Maltese education system to prevent SEBO from reaching an increased frequency.
