Abstract: | The MESA is based on the Diagnostic Evaluation of Articulation and Phonology: DEAP (Dodd, Zhu, Crosbie, Holm & Ozanne, 2002) and consists of four subtests that assess articulation, phonology and consistency of production as well as oro-motor skills. Administration of the complete battery should enable the tester to differentiate between disorders of articulation (organic and functional), delayed phonological development, consistent and inconsistent phonological disorder and childhood apraxia of speech. |
