Nomi ma' Mino : a multimedia software package for Year 1 and Year 2 students

Abstract

Computers have been introduced in the local state primary schools since October 1996. A software package in the Maltese Language, based on the teaching learning of the four language skills was produced. The main reason for doing software in the Maltese Language was due to the lack of software packages in language. The objective behind this software package is to teach nouns to one and year two children. Our software can be used as a teaching and resource. A manual is also supplied together with this software. Our software tested and evaluated with a sample of fifty students from six different schools in Malta. Four of these schools are state schools, one is a private school and the other one a church school. We also tried our software with ten different teachers. Orn Dissertation proceeds by analysing, interpreting and discussing the feedback obtained through the checklists which were given to the pupils and Results obtained from the checklists show that the software packages is up to standard and our aims have been reached.
