This study is an attempt for the evaluation of the efforts done by the Tunisian Government relative to the child rights. One will analyse the degree of the compatibility between the Tunisian child legislation and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. For this aim, this work will stress the legislative actions taken by the Tunisian Government in order to be in line with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Insofar, it realizes a lot of achievements through a meticulous and a gradual approach. In fact, the influence of the UNCRC is clear on the Tunisian child legislation basically through the promulgation in 1995 by the Tunisian legislator of the Code for the Protection of the Child. This code specific to the child is the first one promulgated in the Arab World, it represents a good example for all the Arab countries to follow. Nevertheless, in spite of all the achievements in matter of the protection and promotion of the child, some lacks still remain; they need to be reformed in the future. These lacks are due to some cultural and traditional reasons, related to the cultural . specificity of Tunisia as a Muslim country. As a sum up, some recommendations and suggestions have been presented in the conclusion in order to fill the gaps of the Tunisian child legislation.en_GB
