The issue of how to transcribe children's speech is not recorded clearly and comprehensively in the literature. Objectives are usually laid out However the implementation procedures regarding conventions to be applied are not dealt with. The authors encountered such difficulties while they were carrying out an ongoing research project on Maltese Child Phonology. Maltese is a Semitic based language with the amalgamation and influence of English and the Romance languages.en_GB
