Abstract: This dissertation is "An Annotated Translation of Selected Texts from al-Fasi's "Satisfying the Desire with Tidings in the Sacred Precinct". It is primarily concerned with translating a selected text and supplementing the translation with annotations. Such a task requires attention to detail to ensure the translation itself remains faithful to the author's intention, while the annotations render the academic research objectives of the dissertation's aims. The theoretical framework within which this undertaking was approached remains concerned with enhancing the present state of research. No former English translations of the original text were available and the annotations attest to accentuate points that are deemed to be important. The progression of the dissertation itself was carefully planned to ensure it accommodated these concerns within acceptable modes of research templates according to stringent academic criteria. The organisation of the dissertation focused on covering issues like "context" and "biography" independently of the actual translation itself. The dissertation respects the academic terms of reference and ensures the translation and annotations are privileged throughout.
