The following is a collection of published and unpublished articles and reports by John Wood. They mostly deal with Pipi tal-Qasba, Maltese smoking pipes. They include descriptions and drawing of various fragments found in Malta and Gozo.

John Wood was educated at Saint George’s preparatory school and Training Ship Mercury. He joined the Royal Navy in 1954 and qualified as a Shallow Water and Ship Diver. In 1961, whilst working with the Malta Department of Antiquities, he discovered shipwrecks in Xlendi. Mr Wood assisted in experimental work on the Maltese thermocline for the UK Meteorological Office between 1969 and 1971. He also participated in the excavation and conservation of the Punic Ship Marsala between 1974 and 1979. He is a Member of the Society for Nautical Research.

Mr Wood taught Art and Design from 1967 to 1995 and is the author of a number of publications about Pipi tal-Qasba, Maltese folklore and Maltese migration to Tunisia.
