Abstract: This research study explores the views and perceptions of Primary Heads of School and other personnel within the college with regards to dealing with unwanted behaviour in primary school children. It looks into how the relationship between the students, the school and the family affects the pupils’ attitude, feelings and behaviour and the way they perceive teaching and learning in light of the relationship that is created. Through the Head of Schools and College personnel’s viewpoint, this study investigated how this relationship that is created between all stakeholders and the student can be fostered and improved upon, in order to deal with and prevent unwanted behaviour. The focus of the study is to explore which leadership styles are more conducive in preventing and dealing with unwarranted behaviour in your children at the primary school level. The results of this study show that the environment that the pupils form part of and the parenting styles are two major influences in a child’s disposition towards learning and in their behaviour. However, the kind of relationships School leaders, teachers and college personal have with students and their families influence pupils’ behaviour and attitudes towards learning. The results show that when leadership involves collegiality and collaboration with all stakeholders pupil’s behaviour improves.
