The title of my thesis is "Problems of Political and Economic Transition in Post Communist Albania" l will give my point of view about the factors which determined the outcome of events that lead a political, economic and social transformation in Albania. Starting with a chronological order one would first ask Why Albania was described ns "The domino which failed to fall" in 1989, following the falling of the totalitarian regimes in Eastern Europe. Albanian Communism was the last to fall and when it did, it happened relatively without any bloodshed. But this did not result in social, economic and political stability .Why? ln many eastern countries after the fall of communism the constitutional reform took place while in Albania the constitution was approved 9 years later, why? Was the constitutional crisis the cause of instability? But instability exists still after the long desired constitutional law was established. Why? In 1992 for the first time the opposition came to power this called for celebrations and for a hope towards prosperity and social justice. This did happen and relatively with a fast pace but 1t you look with m a three dimensional picture of Albanian capitalism it would be like a building standing on one corner column waiting for the first winds of spring 1997 to wipe 1t off the ground smashing the Albanian's dream for a better life. Who is responsible? What is the impact of the events in former Yugoslavia in Albanian transition?en_GB
