Abstract: This qualitative research explores the experience of six persons who were diagnosed with a mental illness but are now recovered. The conceptual framework is based on social constructionism and resiliency factors. Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) was used to elicit the participant's meaning of their recovery. Six in-depth interviews were carried out together with a focus group with family members.
