By adopting a perspective that amalgamates architecture and the social sciences, this dissertation join the conversation revolving around the relationship between architecture and the under privileged. Intrinsically, the study explores the potential role of architecture in improving the wellbeing of deprived individuals, with particular emphasis on the case of Bormla. The latter is a locality which not only houses a significant portion of inhabitants subsisting below and on the poverty line, but has long been plagued by stigma and a concentration of social problems.en_GB
