Abstract: | The objective of this study is to explore the situation of the honour killing referring to women and there right to life in Jordan , sought to examine the reason behind this killing and if there any relation between honour killing and Islamic religion. The first chapter examines the women's rights and Islam, honour killing from Islamic perspective, Women's in the Arab society. The second chapter will deal with the issue of honour killing in Jordan, by examining the violence definition and the importance of this issue on the international level, the violence against women in Jordanian society, the reasons behind this honour killing in Jordanian society, Jordanian laws regarding honour killing, and how this laws violate the international law .beside shading light on the efforts to reform and change this savage acting. Finally some recommendations will be made as to how this practice can be fought and eliminated and who can be the agents to ignite such a radical change in the Jordanian societal setting. |
