Abstract: This thesis sought to explore the area of potential ways of cooperation between three Maghreb countries - Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia - and the Czech Republic in the present era of surging globalization and interdependence. The structural approach to the topic of this thesis was based on four fundamental questions. First, 'Where are we now?' dealt with a description of the current state of affairs, the existing ways of cooperation. The second question of 'Where are we going?' was investigating the scope of potential cooperation opportunities and prospects. In the context of this question, certain key areas were identified and subsequently recommended to the Czech governmental and nongovernmental/private sectors as highly relevant and strategically important fields for future cooperation. It was suggested that these areas are considered substantial cooperation prospects and thus receive greater attention from the Czech governing authorities. Thirdly, 'How to get there?' was answered within the framework of the second question as part of the process of ascertaining the most prospective cooperation opportunities and the means through which they could he carried out. Lastly, the question of why new ways of cooperation are sought and for what reason was explained at the end of the thesis based on the theoretical principles laid down in the first part as well as on the vital empirical findings of the second and third part The PEST and SWOT analysis served as main analytical tools for the assessment of not only the status quo, but also the cooperation prospects. They helped establish a basic platform from which one was able to derive an answer to the questions of 'Where are we now?' and 'Where are we going?'. Further research, which is beyond the scope of this thesis, needs to be completed to investigate the areas highlighted here as major cooperation prospects.
