Abstract

Since most masterpieces of ancient Greek painting are lost, it is necessary to use other sources that may help us identify the Greek influence on Roman painting. The vase painted decorations of the classical period provide one of the most useful ways to form an idea about what was going on in large-scale Greek painting.
