Abstract: After the end of the second world war we witnessed one of the most spectacular changes in current history of the international community - the domination of colonialism and the emerging of the new non-European states in international community - For the first time in history the international community has become world-wide, universal, comprising people from all continents. This tremendous liberation process has been conducted in the name of one of the most dynamic and far-reaching political and judicial principles known in the history of political thought, the history of international relations and the history of international law ... That is the principle of self-determination.
