The aim of this dissertation is to discuss the new status of the child of this century. The focus is on making children participate in expressing their feelings towards their own rights and on involving them whenever it is possible. The first chapter explores what has been done for them these last decades and evaluates states' commitment to the international instruments by exhibiting the situation of children in our world The second chapter deals with children's participation developing their rights whether it is a direct or an indirect one. This part goes further by revealing that participation and participating are nearly becoming a regular feature with all the hard work that some organizations are doing.en_GB
