Abstract: Although Photovoltaic penetration needs to increase further to reach our targets, unfortunately this growth is facing various economic limitations. Looking at countries where Photovoltaic systems were highly penetrated these have faced technical and economical limitations. These limitations can be rectified by increasing the self-consumption and this can be done by integrating the storage with grid-connected systems. This will automatically reduce the impact of reverse power flows on the grid and Feed in Tariffs which are a huge expense on the country's economy. The analysis will look at the actual operation from various sizes of directly connected grid connected photovoltaic systems when installed on a household. The study done in Mat-lab and Simulink will show in reality what consumption can be covered by installing a grid-connected PV system. The analysis will be done on a high consumption household such that it will be easier to portray the different benefits of each and every PV system. The simulation will then follow by integrating the storage with the system.
