Modelling of nano-structured materials with particular emphasis on ALPO frameworks

Abstract

With the advancements in research and with the need of always smaller components in new technologies, nanostructures, especially those which exhibit anomalous or enhanced properties, are getting more important every day. One such family of nanostructures which has received much attention is the zeolite family in particulate those silicates and aluminosicialtes zeolites which exhibit negative Poisson's ratio (auxetic), that is silicates and zeolites which get fatter when stretched and thinner when compressed.
