Abstract: This dissertation looks towards what are the benefits that may be identified through the Valuation of Built Heritage Assets, as well as considering the different techniques available to Valuers. It is concluded that these benefits include the preservation and stewardship of our national patrimony, improved sustainability within the construction industry, the creation of new jobs and trades within the labour market as well as attracting tourism. It is also determined that while no hard and fast rule may be applied to the Valuation of Built Heritage Assets, a process for discerning the Valuation of Built Heritage Assets is recommended, intended to guide users and valuers towards selecting which valuation method, or combination of methods, would be best suited towards their goal.
