Abstract: Compared to other creatures, human beings are unique because, rather than just figuring in the environment as other creatures do, they are constantly changing the landscape in which they live. Cultural diversity is another hallmark of the human race. This is intrinsically due to geography, and a kaleidoscopic historical experience characterized by fascinating technological advancements. In one way or another, these factors have determined the rise and fall of civilizations.
