Archaeological development in Malta from the seventeenth to the beginning of the twentieth century

Abstract

This dissertation will focus on outlining the major political issues and historical events, as well as changing ideologies, both national and on a European basis, which influenced the development of Maltese archaeology, starting from the seventeenth century till the beginning of the twentieth century. The progress in the methods used for archaeological investigations throughout the period will also be investigated.
