Abstract: This dissertation is a print-based safe-sex campaign aimed at Maltese youths between the ages of 18 and 26. It takes the form of a project in which there is the design carried out within three types of print media: posters (three), an advert and a brochure. In order to understand the need for the campaign, and to provide means and content, a research study was also carried out to investigate how knowledgeable Maltese youths are about sexually transmitted diseases and also about the method of contraception used, if any. The research indicates that they are largely unaware of most STDs, but that the media plays an important role in what they do know. A journal explaining the design process which was used to create the print campaign is also presented.
