Some children do not have an aptitude for school and often they are labelled as lazy or ignorant. Yet all these children need is to be taught lessons in a way which is different to traditional teaching. Video games, apart from being visually engaging offer a higher level of involvement. Through educational video games, children can be totally engaged in a topic and feel as though they are active participants deciding what they want to do for themselves. The aim of this dissertation was to prove that learning can be interesting if presented in an amusing way. The end product was a Flash based video game that can he used in schools as a supporting text. Children and parents who tested this game felt that it was a good and fun learning experience. The people interviewed also expressed their preference towards this medium over traditional media such as books.en_GB
