| Abstract: | A substantial part of this essay is a catalogue of European architectural works that fall within a family that sometimes referred to as Art Nouveau. This catalogue has been compiled for two reasons. One, in order to situate the local strains within the international context and two, to differentiate the local strains from international context. The Italian variant has been dealt with as the most immediate link with the Maltese art nouveau-type work. |
