dc.description.abstract | The following study will focus upon two main themes concerning St. Paul's Monument at Saqqajja, Rabat, namely - the HISTORY (Part 1) and CONSERVATION strategy (Part 2) for this monument Part 1 will be primarily focused on the monument's historical research. Why? When? By Whom? - The latter three questions will be addressed in order to understand the monument's origin and influences, as well as its importance to our culture and architectural HERITAGE, including the connection between its two features, namely fountain and niche. The research will be focused on both niche and fountain, and their possible connection, if it does exist. Part 2 will than focus upon the present state of the monument and a criticism, especially upon past interventions conducted on St. Paul's niche side. | en_GB |
