dc.description.abstract1. DESIGN is the area of human experience knowledge and skills that reflect man's concern with the appreciation and adaptation of his surroundings in the light of his material and spiritual needs. In particular, it relates with configuration, composition, value and purpose in man-made phenomenon (Analogues with Humanities, Science). 2. DESIGN AWARENESS is design as philosophy. It is consciousness of configuration, meaning, value and purpose in man-made phenomena and the ability to understand and handle ideas related with them. (Analogous with Literacy and Numeracy). 3. DESIGN METHODOLOGY is the study of the principles, practices and procedures of design in a rather broad and general sense. Its central concern is with how designing both is and might be conducted. This includes the study of how designers work and think, the establishment of appropriate structures for the Design Process. The development and application of new design methods, techniques, and procedures and reflection on the nature and extent of design knowledge and its application to design problems.en_GB
