Abstract: The provision of shelter from the elements is still part of the purpose of a building. But we have come to understand that there is a need to create an indoor environment that is comfortable, pleasant and healthy to live and work in. Translated Into physical terms, comfort has to be quantitatively linked to aesthetics, lighting levels and quality, noise levels, adequate ventilation and acceptable thermal conditions.
