Abstract: The object of this thesis is to develop and design a new Headquarters for the Malta Police Force to take over the functions of the present Headquarters at Floriana. The design is also to take into consideration the integration and co-ordination of the various activities of the Force into one building complex. This thesis gives an opportunity to bring the planning and technical requirements to a level equivalent to Police Headquarters abroad. The main aspects of the scheme which have to be examined and developed are: 3.01 To co-ordinate the various functions of the administrative side of the Force into one building taking into account, in the process, of its future exigencies. 3.02 To expand, develop and modernise the garaging and vehicle servicing facilities of the Traffic Section. 3.03 To study the working and requirements of the Fire Fighting Section and to make provision for this Section to be incorporated in the new Headquarters. 3.04 To expand on the Training facilities available at present. 3.05 To try and integrate both the Dog Kennels as well as the Mounted Police Section into the new headquarters complex.
