Scaffolding, formwork, falsework

Abstract

Research overseas has provided an extensive knowledge of the fundamental properties and characteristics of the three fields on which my study is based. Great steps have been made with regard to 'Scaffolding, Formwork and Falsework'. Locally, however, this particular field of the construction industry seems to have been neglected, and as usual we are lagging behind. It is my opinion that due to neglect of the proper approach to their design and fabrication the development of concrete construction has been seriously hampered and as a result has caused a lowering in our building standards.
