| Abstract: | Though planning history, aesthetic control over the built environment may be traced from age-old tradition. In the renaissance, for example, aesthetic contextuality was guaranteed through the strict geometrical rules based on the Greek classical orders of architecture. For a period of time during the 20th century, the issue, within our local planning context, was tackled by what was known as an aesthetics board. |
