The international diploma in computer studies : an evaluation

Abstract

This study consists of an evaluation of the NCC International Diploma in Computer Studies, which is a basic Information Technology course. The work includes a description of evaluation, its purposes and its role in training and educational programs. The study investigates the reasons for joining the IDCS and the effectiveness of this course in terms of learning new skills and improving the career prospects of students. It further investigates whether IDCS students found the course useful for their present employment. For the purpose of this study a mail survey was sent to all students, who completed the IDCS over the past year. Analysis of the results is presented in chapter four. Summary of the findings together with suggestions for further studies are included in the last chapter.
