Abstract: Architecture is hardly ever taken at face value; it is often examined beneath layers and layers of judgements and extremely contest field. Finally seeking some sort or meaning The concept of beauty and aesthetics is often deemed to be individually subjective but in reality it is not so, cultural influences cluster this subjectivity into groups and thus does not quite remain entirely subjective. An architect's judgement of architecture differs tremenclously from thnt of everyone else, due to his/her training. This difference was looked into by taking the case study of a band club. There were many factors that surfaced regarding the choices taken by the club members on building styles and materials, these choices often focused around the use of classical styles and traditional building materials. The influences of modern architecture on the people (not the architect) was sought to be understood as well as the attachment to the architecture of the past. The judgement by the public of these infiltrating modern styles were analysed in an attempt to understand why there exists such a divulgence in opinion between the architect and the 'layman' in terms of the architecture. Furthermore the architect's ability to listen and communicate ideas to the people was investigated; there seems to be a detachment of sorts between the architect and the cultural context, which severs the creative outlet shaping the built environment.
