Abstract: In the past, our planet was composed of various independent and unique bioregions. Each region contained an assemblage of natural communities and species that thrived under the particular topographical, climatic and environmental characteristics prevailing in the area. Each community had different norms and beliefs, and practiced different traditions and religions; in general, each community represented a different way of life - a different culture.
