Abstract: | Sharecd space is a street design concept that that promotes the reduction of barriers between pedestrians and vehicles. The first implementations of this concept can be tracked back to Nick De Boer's home zones in the Netherlands, in the late 1960's. Shared space shifts the emphasis away from traffic signs, road markings and traffic signals to subtle behavior hints embedded in the street design. |
