The aim of this study was to look into what motivates first year Law and Teaching students to choose their current course, which would pave the way towards a future career. A quantitative methodology was adopted and the respondents from first year Law and Teaching courses filled out questionnaires which aimed to identify their motivations. No significant difference was found between Law and Teaching students' motivators. Both faculty groups were primarily intrinsically motivated. However, a significant was difference found between males and females, where, albeit the fact that both groups are primarily intrinsically motivated, the latter produced a significantly higher intrinsic score than their male counterparts.en_GB
