Abstract: The aim of the research is to examine whether there exists the case for government incentives to promote the retrofitting of existing dwellings with methods of water conservation, as well as to examine the outlook for future incentives for new dwellings. In arriving at this assessment the research involved studying the water consumption volumes within a number of existing houses which did not use any water saving measures, and observing any changes in their water consumption after small retrofitted water conservation interventions have been carried out.
