dc.description.abstract | The following dissertation aims to produce a programme which will communicate the message of Christianity in modem and challenging ways that appeal to our culture. This programme seeks to attract the unconverted, but it also aims at encouraging Christians to leave their comfortable seats and help in the regeneration of the Christian faith. Before arriving to the ideal content for this production, a brief analysis was carried out to broaden the candidate's spectrum of Christian programmes, and to suggest the ideal style to be adopted for this television production. This dissertation will also give the candidate, experience in television direction and production. On the other hand, chapter 3 of this dissertation is dedicated to the actual making of the programme John 14, illustrating the three stages of production. John 14, is a 32-minute production which incorporates dynamic and positive items which deliver the Christian message sighted in the Gospel of John, chapter 14, which says that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Chapter 4 gives an analysis of the programme, discussing the main themes and sequences of the production; whereas chapter 5 concludes this dissertation giving my views, as well as the views of a focus group who gave their reactions to the final production. | en_GB |
