| Abstract: | A 13-STRONG GROUP from the Malta Study Circle of London who were on a short visit, attended the May monthly meeting of the Philatelic Society, held at the Osborne Hotel, Valletta. Dr. J.H. Mercieca, President of the Society, welcomed Mr. Brian Hobbs, Chairman of the Circle, and his group, and expressed his satisfaction at the large attendance. Dr. Mercieca then introduced Dr. Maurice Agius Vadala, the first speaker, who gave a most interesting and instructive lecture on "Maps of the Great Siege'', which was very well received. A reception followed and this was an occasion for the local and oveseas members to exchange views over drinks. [excerpt] |
