The economic feasibility of the horticultural industry in Malta

Abstract

The Government of Malta has recently shown great interest in the potentialities of the horticultural industry in Malta. As no research had been done previously, I decided to look into the economic feasibility of this industry, and present it as the dissertation that is: required as part-fulfilment of the B.A. (Hons.) course in Economics. Information on the subject is very limited. As such I had to base my findings mainly on interviews with various people involved in this field in some way or another. These were mainly Government officials however I also spoke to a number of farmers and to people involved in the catering trade.
