Although there has been extensive research and studies on different kinds of translation of musical styles to other styles, research on how different musical styles represent different perspectives of listening while creating the same message simultaneously is much rarer. In fact, scholars have studied translation of a music language from a cultural, ethnographical and a linguistic view, but have rarely focused on how different music tastes differ from each other. It is interesting to study why a jazz artist believes in the presence of various improvisation, but a classical musician does not believe that music should be freely interpreted by the performing artist’s choice rather than how it is written by the original composer. This study will analyze how music must be perceived as if it has a world of its own. In this dissertation, my aim is to encourage both professionals and music lovers to understand music as if it has its own world of different languages. I would be doing this by transcribing my original acoustic songs into vocal chamber music acapella. Although my dissertation is focused mainly on composition, it will also include some studies regarding ethnomusicology, sociology and psychology. The reason is because after recording and releasing my songs, it will answer if the songs can still be appreciated when they are transcribe into a different genre. It would also have a better understanding of how music is approached. For instance, some people follow music simply for entertainment while others listen to music to seek different messages from both notation and the words. In other words, my dissertation will focus on understanding how different genres can relate to each other, and why it is essential to understand the concept of particular music styles in order to communicate the same language to everyone.en_GB
