Purpose: The aim of this dissertation is to better understand the extent of concern in Maltese football about financial issues related to insolvencies. The dissertation seeks to draw attention to the difficulties and difficult circumstances that clubs face, as well as the problems that they encounter because of financial issues over which they have no influence. Design: A qualitative analysis approach was chosen as the best tool for addressing the dissertation's objectives. Eight club members were interviewed in semi-structured interviews. The clubs interviewed were those who compete in the Maltese Premier League's topflight. The club officials who participated in this dissertation were members of their respective club committee's administrative staff. Findings: According to the results of this dissertation, clubs were well aware of certain financial issues in the field of Maltese football. Due to a variety of constraints, these financial issues will continue to exist for the time being, preventing Maltese football from taking the next major step forward as it should. Conclusion: According to the results of the study, certain questions were never adequately addressed. However, one way to mitigate those issues is to convert football teams into football companies. This will enable football clubs to be more transparent in the way they operate and raise more revenue.en_GB
